The Hateful Republian Myth

The other day I got a note asking me why I was a republican.

In a nutshell, my answer was :Ideals:

The person then sent me a real reason as to why I was a Republican.
You should be a Republican because you hate minorties, immigrants, gay people, poor people, and women. You should also be a Republican because you believe in fiscal irresponsibility. You should be a Republican because you are a self-serving dick who doesn't care about poor people. And finally, you should be a Republican because you love to lick the asshole of corporate criminals that are fucking hard-working Americans out of jobs and money.

That's why you are a Republican.
And my response:

First of all I am a minority. duh. I like immigrants, they massage our economy. I don't hate gay people, I just don't think they should get married... considering that marriage was first a religious term -- not legal or financial. What the heck is wrong with calling it a civil union if you get the same tax breaks?!

Why do you have to be :married:?

Why do you want that RELIGIOUS title on your .. union?
Anyways. whole other topic.

So.. I'm also a woman so this doesn't count. are they talking about a woman's right to choose?

I think women do have a right to choose... choose to be responsible or irresponsible.. not be irresponsible and then choose to cover it up with murder.

HOWEVER... I have an issue with health and rape cases... again, another topic. Fiscal irresposibility is just FUNNY. and not caring about poor people has NOTHING to do with my political beliefs. Yes, I believe that people SHOULD give back and help when they can... but they should be able to choose what they do with their OWN, HARD-EARNED money. Not aLL rich people were born into wealth. Also, not all Republicans (myself included) are rich! So anything that has to do with social or financial status is null and void in my eyes.

And the last sentence... corporate America... haha... no comment...
