Actress Stacey Dash rallies behind Motown Mitt
As a staunch supporter of the Romney revolution, it was refreshing to watch actress Stacey Dash on the Piers Morgan show publicly support Governor Mitt Romney’s candidacy for president and articulately explain why she supported his candidacy against President Barack H. Obama. Stacey Dash, an actress who at 46 years old can still play a teenager in films like “Clueless” and for many who remember the late Richard Pryor’s classic “Moving”, has recently had to defend her stance against the liberal left who has attacked her for her decision to support the former Massachusetts Governor.
What’s interesting is the misconception that Hollywood and the entertainment industry is a liberal, progressive and anti-conservative haven for the leftist agenda. In recent news, entertainers like hip hop artist Nicki Minaj have displayed their unanimous support for Governor Romney, detailing the reasons as to why they support the Republican Presidential candidate, contrasting many President Obama supporters who generally can not tell you why they the support or what the President’s domestic economic policy is. Despite the fiscal instability and record high unemployment numbers in minority neighborhoods, the general question that many mature voters and politically savvy entertainers are asking is, what has the President implemented that we need four more years of, and why should Hollywood, Hip-Hop or any pop culture industry support the Democratic candidate this time around.
Dash, who spoke on Piers Morgan live Tuesday evening, described her responses she received from her recently ‘tweeted” support as being brutal and negative, pointing out the idea that if you are an African American in this election, your support is expected to go towards the Democratic candidate who in this election happens to be African American candidate, not taking into consideration the Presidents executive record for the past three years.
Although the President has proven that he can lyrically compete with Al Green at the Apollo, and deliver beautiful speeches to record number audiences, the countries economic woes should be a recurring priority for every American voter in 2012. Entertainers such as Stacey Dash, a beautiful self accomplished actress, has every right to support who she feels can lead the nation “forward”, despite being attacked for her political views. Perhaps if the media scrutinized the President’s first term record, as hard as Stacey Dash was scrutinized by the media this week via her response supporting Mitt Romney, Romney’s poll numbers would be higher in the battle ground states leading to the general election.
